WASSUP!
My name is Claudia! I'm was born & raised in the #617 aka Boston. My ethnicity is Cape Verdean and I am a proud black girl! I love my melanin and my heritage.
I grew in Dorchester, MA. I've attended catholic school for all of my elementary school life and transferred to public school once I hit high school. I was bullied for a short time in my childhood, which led me to becoming a bully. Lol that was an interesting point in my life. Kids can be so mean, but since then I've learned to love myself and have tried to brush off the hate with love.
When I was younger I had a lot of insecurities similar to any other kid, but once I hit my senior year of high school is when I started to boss up and become the beautiful woman I am today. Getting the opportunity to explore great places such as Paris and Barcelona, have contributed to my self growth. It has helped me to love myself for who I am and allowed myself to open up. My love for hip hop & R&B has been my main outlets during my journey of self discovery. Artist like Tupac & 50 cent have shown me the beauty in being 100% authentic. They have taught me that authenticity can bring you along way.
In the midst of my self discovery, I have learned to appreciate my blackness and to be bold. I use to perm my hair in order to fit in to European beauty standards, but when I came to college I realized the beauty in black women and black hair. Now I am a confident, natural, and unapologetic black woman who is 1000% in love with my people and my culture. Public figures like Yara Shahidi, Michelle Obama, Issa Rae, Oprah, & many more are some of the black women I look up to and that make me feel invincible and beautiful.
My growth throughout my life is something I take pride in. I have evolved so much. I've learned so much. And all these experiences have shaped me to become the strong black woman I am today and I am forever grateful for those experiences. I am an avid believer is human evolution and change.
Keep learning. Keep evolving.
Claudia
